Mr. S. Devaraj, the Promoter cum Executive Chairman of the company, has 33 years of experience in the development and microfinance sector. He is the founder of GVMFL, GVT and ASA. Mr. S. Devaraj is a Post Graduate (M.A.) and had also received a Diploma in Social Development (DSD) with a specialization in credit, savings and rural cooperatives from Coady International Institute (Canada) in 1985. In 1986, he was awarded a UNDP fellowship and travelled extensively across India, visiting and studying the business models of various voluntary organizations. He has also presented various papers in national and international conferences and contributed to the growth and stabilization of the microfinance sector..
Mr. Arjun Muralidharan,
MD & CEO
Mr. Arjun Muralidharan is responsible for overall strategy development for GVMFL and leads key processes such as strategic planning and IT systems. He is the MD & Chief Executive Officer of GVMFL and has played a vital role in the transition, through transfer of portfolio to GVMFL from GV Trust and also in the first and second round of equity funding for GVMFL. Formerly, he was associated with GE Capital in strategy building, implementation, financial analysis and modeling. He is a SIX SIGMA quality Green Belt Certified professional from GE. He holds a Bachelors degree in chemical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology - Madras and a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from University of California, Berkeley.
Chief Operating Officer & Head-Business
Ms. Shirley received her Masters degree in Business Administration with a specialisation in Finance from Bharathidasan Institute of Management, one of the top ranked business schools in India. She is a topper of her batch whose Bachelors degree is in computer engineering. She is presently heading operations of GVMFL. Under her vibrant leadership, GVMFL had recorded several significant advancements in the last 5 years. Under her leadership, GVMFL had expanded its operations to 37 districts in 5 states of the state in the last couple of years, in particular to cover urban and slum population in the operational area. More significantly, GVMFL tripled the membership and quadrupled the loan portfolio in the last couple of years. Her contributions to research and product development are noteworthy as she championed the launching of the individual loan product (Business Loan). She introduced the decentralised monitoring methodology through divisional and regional structures which have placed GVMFL in a highly commendable position in the industry.
